Rectal bleeding that doesn’t seem to go away. Will it ever?

9 days ago, I noticed bright red blood in the toilet after a normal BM. Directly after doing it I started to notice slight lower abdominal discomfort. Over the past few days, there have been a few regular BMs without any blood (usually if it’s been 24 hrs + after the last BM) but I’m still experiencing the rectal bleeding today (however with little to no abdominal discomfort). I’ve been to urgent care to get blood work and everything came back fine. So I know I’m not battling an infection/virus. So could this possible be internal hemorroids? I’ve had this happen to me 2x in the past but it never lasted more than a day or two.

I’m just sick and tired of dealing with this and won’t be able to see a GP till 3 weeks from now. So anyone know what’s the next best thing for me to do?

Whenever there is bleeding from the rectum - it needs to be evaluated by a gastroenterologist.
Rectal bleeding is something y ou do not want to delay in finding out what caused it.

Usually it is hemorrhoids (either internal and/or external.or from an anal fissure which is a slight tear of the tissues surrounding the anal area. Hemorrhoids and/or an anal fissure tend to ache and burn and itch. (Before you get to see your doctor you could try some Hydrocortisone 1% cream or ointment to apply to the rectal area or some type of hemorrhoid cream) you could ask the Pharmacist.
You need more than just blood work - just blood work without being examined rectally is not sufficient to diagnose what is going on in that area.
Since the blood was bright red this usually does indicate hemorrhoids - if your stool was dark or black , this could indicate bleeding higher up in the digestive tract.
But please check into this soon.
